GRC Direct Goes Green As of October 2008
To receive certification as an environmentally friendly company, GRC Direct participated in an extensive analysis of its production processes and business practices. After a lengthy observation period that included an on-site audit, two of the most recognized organizations in the green movement designated GRC Direct as a sustainable organization:
Forest Stewardship Council – FSC utilizes an independent third party to ensure proper forest management including tracking the supply chain to certified forests. This means clients are assured paper used by GRC Direct carries a chain of custody certificate that ensures origination in sustainable forests.
Sustainable Forestry Initiative – Started by the American Forest & Paper Association in 1994, SFI board members include representatives from wildlife organizations, social and educational groups, and paper and wood products companies. SFI designation includes chain of custody certification that guarantees wood and fiber used in paper originated in responsibly managed forests, and not from illegal harvesting, major tropical wilderness areas or biodiversity hotspots.
