Arvind Gupta came to the United States in 1986, having earned his MBA in India, where he served as district manager of a major shoe company with 30 retail locations and started his own wholesale shoe business. He bought a gasoline service station in the D.C. area and within two years won the franchise's highest growth award. Looking to expand their entrepreneurial opportunities, Arvind and his wife Sushma convinced a printing franchise to take a chance on them, even though they did not have the required start-up capital.
Together they grew their business to the highest sales level among that system's more than 900 worldwide locations – focusing on design, printing, mailing and Internet solutions. After completing the terms of the franchise contract, Arvind re-branded as an independent and renamed their company GRC Direct.
Over the past decade, GRC Direct has been honored on multiple occasions as one of the printing industry's Top 100 companies. GRC Direct is recognized as a specialist in database marketing, direct marketing campaigns, search engine optimization, association membership marketing and donor communications for philanthropic organizations.
As president of GRC Direct, Arvind leads a team of professionals dedicated to understanding customers' needs and delivering outstanding service. He personally works with associations and small businesses, providing insight and guidance into more efficient ways to ensure their messages are effective. Arvind also utilizes his 30 years of experience to give back to other business owners, and recently completed a three-year term as leader of a peer group that focused on achieving desired results by implementing sound financial management and entering new markets.
